Cathedral of Middlesex

John Betjeman named this singularly spectacular medieval barn the ‘Cathedral of  Middlesex’. Built in 1426 and used to store grain it was just bought for £20,000 by English heritage. It is the ninth largest barn of its kind in Europe and its state of preservation is unique. Note the exemplary vaulting oak trusses.
